The 2 flashing transmission fault lights come on when selecting a gear only after the vehicle has been sitting idle for 24 hrs or more. This only happens at start up. Turning the ignition off and waiting 15sec does elimate the problem. Location: Melksham. Posts: 1. Transmission fault (manual disco 3) Have 2006 Discovery 3 manual which comes up with a transmission fault and an 'e' is displayed where the gear numbers appear on the dashboard. Also the brake fault light comes on. None of this clears until you switch off the engine. Dont think it is XY calibration as I have The 5 inputs to the TCM from the transmission manual shift shaft switch assembly indicate the transmission gear selector lever position. This information is used for engine start enable, engine controls as well as determining the transmission shift patterns. The state of each input is available for display on the scan tool. If a warning light illuminated this time, there should be a fault code logged. The trouble with the D3 is that it's so damn complicated that everything affects everything else - example being we had a vehicle in a year or so back where the suspension was flat, the actual problem was a dud ABS sensor but because the vehicle argued with itself about what the vehicle speed was, the suspension Three times she has had to stop and restart after getting the following faults and messages. Park Brake Fault. HDC Fault System Not Available. Transmission Fault Limited Gears Available. Suspension Lowered. There is 3 Amber lights on for the suspension, park brake and the traction control also there is an F in the gear indicator. I'd chock the wheels, unlock the center diff and put the front end on jack stands. Have someone hold one of the front wheels and you turn the other. Then you hold yours and have them turn the other. The one that doesn't turn the propshaft is probably the one with the problem. Though if things are jammed they both could turn it. I have a 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 (colossal 150K miles). Bought it a few weeks ago. Last week it just would not start (very cold morning). Engine would turnover but just wouldn't fire up. I've Press the plus/minus button located on the shift lever, to increase or decrease the gear range available. When you shift from D (Drive) to L (Low), the transmission will shift to a pre-determined lower gear range. The highest gear available for this pre-determined range is displayed next to the L in the DIC. dTPW.
